Letting Go & Beginning Again

This is the third time around for the front of this sweater. Many of you will remember the time Spud ate my knitting, causing me to have to restart the front all over again. I've had to start it yet a third time because I cast on the wrong size when I decided to recommence it.
I tell you, I've wondered whether this sweater is cursed!
Hiccups aside, I'm making speedy progress on it now, and nothing has gone wrong with this third attempt at the front. I'm determined to get this jumper finished and ready to wear when the first cold days of Winter arrive.

Re-starting my Clara Bow Sweater after Spud ate it brings up a topic I've struggled approaching here on my Blog. I've thought about telling you all several times, but just haven't really known what to say. I thought about not saying anything at all, but know that there are some of you here that love hearing about the dogs and would wonder.

Due to circumstances I don't have the heart to discuss, Spud was put to sleep in the very beginning of January. In the end, heartbreaking as it was, our Vet agreed that it was the best thing we could do for Spud. It was the hardest decision I have ever had to make, and many tears ensued, but I knew then and know now that it was absolutely the right decision for not only him but us as well.

Rilla has missed having a canine companion both around the house and whilst out in the paddock working the sheep, and in light of the fact that I always dreamed of owning two Border Collies, a little chocolate Collie puppy will be arriving here in early May. I'm excited and nervous, and eagerly anticipate the day that I will finally have a team of two sheepdogs, and also a pair of loyal companions.

I hope you've had a good weekend and have a good week.
Until next time, take care!
