Knit It | The Darling Dots Mug Cosy

I've had this little pattern at the back of my mind for several months now, waiting until I had time to pull it forward and write it up. This week was the week, and today I published the pattern for the Darling Dots Mug Cosy. As you may have guessed from the name, I've designed this cosy to use up leftover yarn after you've made the Darling Dots Beanie.
This is the first mug cosy I have made in wool, the other mug cosies I made at the beginning of the year were part of my stash busting and so were made in organic cotton.
I'm very impressed with this woollen cosy. I love the way it's sitting on the mug, it's kind of clinging to it more, and wool also works better for fair isle and colour work designs. The reason for this is because the stitches sit next to each other more closely; in a way, they kind of meld together, where as cotton stays very much in its defined stitches. Cotton also has a bit of drape to it, where as wool not so much, especially this organic wool which is incredibly light weight.
In short, I'm very much in love with it.

This cosy fits a standard sized my, which includes, of course, my Hedgehog Quote Mugs. The pattern is available on my website, and to celebrate the publication of it I'm having a little launch special from now until Saturday.
Please use the code MUGCOSY at checkout to enjoy 15% off the pattern.
And, if you haven't already got a copy of the Beanie pattern and would like to buy both patterns, used the code LOTSADOTS to received 25% off when you buy the pair. You'll find the mug cosy here and the beanie here.
The cosy is worked in 4ply, and shown here in WOOLganic Merino Raindrops with Grapefruit Moon spots.

The Darling Dots Mugs Cosy is also available on Ravelry, but the discounts codes are only active on my website. If you would like the pattern to go to your Ravelry library, simply contact me after purchasing and I will send you the pattern on Ravelry too.

Happy knitting!
