Knit It: Cassie Colourblock Cowl

Do you ever get knitting cravings? A feeling where you know you just need to knit a certain kind of project? Maybe it’s a craving for a particular stitch, fibre or level of complication?

Lately, I’ve been craving easy texture and thick cosy yarn. It’s winter that makes me want large, woolly projects on my needles. And today it’s certainly cold enough for them!
My newest pattern is the perfect knit when you’re craving something easy (but not too boring) and something with big stitches.

Cassie Colourblock Cowl is a beginner-friendly knitting project that uses super soft 12ply merino wool. Bands of stripes and colour blocking combine with a cosy moss stitch to create a wonderfully squishy and cosy texture.

For experienced knitters, this cowl will knit up super quick and be a great ‘palette cleanser’ - that project you need after completing something intricate or large. You’ll be able to knit this one whilst having coffee with friends or watching Netflix.

And for beginner knitters, this cowl will be an engaging yet easy to accomplish project. You’ll have the opportunity to play with colour and the thick yarn means the rows are short so you won’t get bored.

I’ve been enjoying wearing this cowl lately. It’s easy to throw on with no fussy ends to arrange, and it also tucks into a coat easily.

Cassie Colourblock Cowl is available as a PDF knitting pattern on my website now. You’ll have the option to add it straight to your Ravelry library after checkout, or of course, you can grab the pattern on Ravelry directly.

If you’d like to knit one using the same super soft, cosy wool I used, you might like to grab a kit. They also include the printed pattern!

I hope you enjoy knitting Cassie as much as I did!

Until next time, happy making!
Sarah
