5 Super Chunky Knitting Project Ideas

Peppin 14 is the newest arrival to the Say! Little Hen yarn collection. I love hunting around for good quality, natural fibre yarns and am always pleased when I find one worthy of addition. This yarn is made from Australian-grown fine merino, which means it is really soft and cuddly. The thickness (14ply) just adds to the cosiness, too.
I find it tricky to find natural fibre super bulky or chunky yarns, so I was especially pleased with this one.

With the arrival of a new yarn to the shop comes all the possibilities. What can I make with it? Down the rabbit hole of pattern searching I went and I turned up some rather nice, cosy knits. I’ve rounded up my favourite knitting patterns for Peppin 14 below - I hope you find something you love.

Kingston Sweater by Tara-Lynn Morrison
I love the use of colour blocking in this thick, cosy jumper. Of course, you can change it up by knitting it all in one colour and adding in more stripes.

Beneath the Pines by Kalurah Hudson
Who said lace had to be knit with fine yarn? I love the dramatic detail of the lace in this shawl, knitted at such a large scale.

I hope these projects kick of your imagination of what you can create with Peppin 14. If you’re using the Ravelry search feature, remember that 14ply is also known as Super Bulky Yarn.

Happy knitting!
